How it started
Not a handout. A Chance
When devastating floods swept through Nepal, so many families were left struggling. I spent a long time thinking about how I could help. My first thought was to raise money or start a fundraiser.
But the more I reflected, the more I realised: these incredible people don't want a handout. They want hope, dignity, and the chance to rebuild their lives with their own hands.
So instead of asking for donations, we started Nyano in a small beautiful Kelowna brand that brings their beautiful handmade work directly to our community here.

The Make
Our shoes are made by women in Nepal — many of them mothers who lost their husbands. Hand-making 100% pure wool footwear is a traditional skill they've practised all their lives. It's what they do best.
Every pre-order gives one of them a steady job and a fair income to support her children — earned through her own craft.
